Woke up at 6 and couldn’t go back to sleep, so got up and tried to get my co-op shift covered for next week.
Tried to tame my hair.
Let Gogo drink from the tap a little….it seems to be the only place she likes to drink so I try to do this a few times a day.
Left the house by 6.45 am.
Went to the office to pick up keys and check a couple of things on the computer.
Didn’t bother to turn on any lights. Seems appropriate for early morning to sit in the dark and watch the world wake up.
Went to the bank to get cash.
Picked up the dry cleaning.
Scoured my cookbooks for things to make for dinner tomorrow, when we have 3 guests.
Worked on my volcano cake.
With a brief interruption to send my mother photos from Ireland (which she has repeatedly texted me about).
Boxed up the cake.
Started to clean the kitchen, which always looks like a bomb hit after I made a cake.
Took a car service to deliver the cake to the West Village.
Back to the bank to deposit my cake check.
Then to the Village office to print out some forms, which took forever because my work account only links to Brooklyn printers so I had to get various people involved.
Got on the train at Union Square…
where this guy was rocking out. He was very good!
Off the train at 51st.
Got a cup of tea at Pret a Manger. These ladies saw my camera and asked if I was there to take pictures of them. Of course!
Had to show an apartment in this building…
Then back on the train to Brooklyn.
Stopped at home to change my shoes, then went to the co-op to shop for tomorrow’s dinner.
So many veggies!
Finished cleaning the kitchen.
Let the cats out in the hallway to play.
Made Irish soda bread.
V. came home after having a drink with a friend, and we sat on the couch with the cats and chatted for a bit.
